November 5, 2009 Ft. Hood: Remember

"How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy… No stronger retrograde force exists in the world.”
-- Sir Winston Churchill; The River War, 1st edition, Vol. II, pages 248-50, London 1899

  2. Don't give me that ridicule by others bullshit, Anonymous. The guy is supposed to be educated and a psychiatrist. He, of anyone, should be able to handle it.

From what I hear, the guy is a loser and incompetent, so he blames the world and kills people at random.

I hope he is put to death.

There are other ways he could get out of going overseas which might involve prison. There is no excuse for what he did.

You say nothing implicates his religion but he wore Muslim garb daily even though he was born in the US.

There are reports of him participating in suicide talk on the internet.

  3. I don't know if Anon is going to see this but I'll direct to him nevetheless.

Anon- I deleted your post, and will delete all future posts from you. You are not welcome here for two reasons:

First, I've told you before to use a name or don't post here. One or two warnings should have been suffiecient, even for a theist.

Second, you don't know what the fuck you are talking about.

While I will happily entertain differing points of view, and would never censor anyone for having one, I don't tolerate morons or fools or people intent on playing the provocateur (aka Troll) lightly. Your comments were utterly false and patently stupid. New England Bob's response exposed some of them.

the fact the murderer attended mosque daily infers he was devout; that he was videoed in a Palestinian activist meeting, that he (appears to have) posted extremist Muslim blogs comparing suicide bombers to heroic soldiers who throw themselves on grenades, and that he was under surveliilence by the FBI says an awful lot. Evidently more than you are willing to learn about or accept as fact. But then, your type doesn't put much stock in fact.

He was a Major. He wasn't some PFC who was at the mercy of harrasing enlisted men, or NCOs. He had recourse as any soldier does; and as an officer of some rank he was hardley unaware of how to approach such things through the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

He is an example of what religiosity / religious extremism produces. It always has, it always will, until it is finally stamped out. That he was a devout muslim and was praising Allah as he committed mass murder speaks to that.

Killing for God is uniquely a theist trait.

  4. What a horrible tragedy caused by the religious meme. I am fully aware that atheist are capable of unimaginable horrors (Stalin, for instance). However it does seem to me that gruesome acts like the one at Ft. Hood are perpetuated by the religiously infected.
Stalin was a bloodthirsty tyrant who would stop at nothing to gain power. The brutal acts that do not seem to give the murderer any advantage seem to the product of religious psychos.
Is that so, or am I missing something?

  5. Zar,
Stalin never killed in the name of "no God." Nor did he target believers. That he was an atheist was incidental to his murderous acts. He was a tyrant whose only aim was to stay in power and rule. Anyone standing in his way was meat.

But, It takes a belief in the supernatural a religious mind to kill in the name of Allah, or for "god's glory" or for a blasphemy, or for becoming an apostate, or for believing in a different god or no god.

yes, killing in the name of or to satisfy or in defense of an imaginary non-existent supreme being is in my mind the worst possible justification for homicide.

Howdy Dromedary Hump ,Sir Winston Churchill sure knew what he was talking about. And i doubt any other force has held the world back quite the same as much of religion has.

Religious minds are often real bad news, specially if its a religious mind driven by superstition and belief of gods.

Stalin's time at the Theological Seminary in Tiflis maybe cant have helped matters that much with Stalin can they?, religion can teach people some bad attitudes and behaviours etc.Even if when some folks dont actually believe in the religion bit. They still pick up the bad habits.

Some folks say Stalin was persecuted by a priest he even nicknamed the Black Spot he hated him so much, from what ive read it seems in the least he was exposed to some "religious tyrants" in his youthful years anyway.I read they insisted on Russian being spoken and criticized his Georgian accent forever giving the Georgians schoolboys a hard time, and most of the youth peers at the school were all snobby sons of the priests and clergy also.Sounds ghastly horrible to me.

Put it this way,i personally cant see how religion would have helped matters that much in Stlins life anyway.Stalin became a tyrant too for sure,my guess is there was plenty of religious tyrants around him to learn some of the tricks of the tyrant trade from.

This post of your makes me wonder how many more lives need to be lost with a background in relgious belief and bias. Before more folks will start seeing religion sure isnt helping.

Folks then say ohhhh but the charity aspect!!,im thinking so what the fuck?? are you faithful saying religious folk only ever likely to bother doing charity if they read a book and have some silly faith belief?.

What kind of charity is that?

Seems more like purchasing some afterlife insurance plan.If its true.

  8. Just remember that we were founded as a Christian nation. Although I personally do not believe the flag ceremony should be done this way because it dishonors non-Christian veterans. I still feel that there is a reasoning behind it, I mean we were founded as a Christian nation. So...what to do?

  9. Sorry, Shawn, you fail American history 101.

We are founded as a secular nation.

  10. Shawn,
While the country is certainly a "nation of Crhristians" the US was never a "Christian Nation" I hope you understand the difference.

Please show me where in the Constitution there is any mention of a "Christian Nation", or Jesus, or God.
    .
Please explain how the Treaty of Tripoli, signed by president John Adams which specifically says "the United States is not a Christian nation." supports your contention.

Please explain how Jefferson who wrote the Constitution of the US and the State of Virginia, devised the establishment clause in both, and who called Chritianity an absurdity... disavowing resurrection, miracles, trinity, prayer, and jesus as a diety ... supports your contention.

Please show me how the Establishment Clause which specifically forbids governmental endorsement of one religion over another could remotely support your contention.

Now, Shawn, I am happy to entertain opposing view points. But I am a short tempered camel when it comes to people promoting fictions, distortions, and revisions to history. Most of us here are rather well educated, and well versed in American history.

So, unless you have something more than fallacious christian apologetics promoted by people who would love this to be a theocracy, and can present corroboraing historical documentation for this being a "Chrsitian Nation" then I invite you to go read a real history book unsupported by any agenda, and come back when you aren't mouthing distortions and ignorance.

    Thanks.
    Hump

  12. Shawn,
Priceless comments, also factless comments as well. Not only are you completely off base here you are even on the wrong blog. Excellent example of your constituents you are.
By the way, George Washington never mentioned the name Jesus Christ in any of his speeches, never took communion when he did attend his wife's church.
Thomas Jefferson compared Jesus teachings to a dunghill and could not stand christianity.
Thomas Pain wrote a diatribe against your religion.
John Adams as Hump pointed out wrote the treaty of Tripoli that said that we are not a christian nation.
Ben Franklin did not belief in the divinity of Jesus and said that lighthouses were more useful than churches.
The constitution never mentions that we are a christian nation.
Shawn, you are more than welcome to your own opinions, however, you are not welcome to your own historical facts!
