Bobby "The Exorcist" Jindal, Religious Fanatic, has taken it a step too far!

The Governor of Louisiana, Bobby Jindal is a dyed in the wool religious nutter. A fanatical Catholic who rivals William "Bill" Donohue, the head of the medieval thinking Catholic League, for dangerous rhetoric and rabid devotion to Catholic doctrine...however they may interpret it.  He is famous for having subjected his then fiancee to a Catholic exorcism to rid her of demons.

I'm used to his ravings and blather about how gays are dragging this country down; how Obama is destroying the country, and the usual litany of ignorance one has grown to expect from the far right religiously afflicted. But, this time he may have crossed the line.

Evidently the favorite bleating of the religious right that Obama is waging a  "War Against Christianity" (all 76% of it's religious majority in this nation) has pushed Governor Jindal over the edge.  So much so that it appears Governor Jindal has called for a "hostile takeover" of the Federal Government.

Now there's two ways to deal with this. One is to ignore it, and trust it is blather that will fade into obscurity, much like I expect Bobby to. The other is to realize that when an elected official...of any party or persuasion, incites armed rebellion, AKA a "Hostile Takeover" against a duly elected administration / the Federal Government, that its time to get your activism in gear. I for one will not stand idly by and let this kind of rhetoric or threat be thrown about without some consequence. Religious fanaticism doesn't get a pass on sedition.

The following letter was sent to both of my NH senators. Shaheen being the more reasoned (read : Dem.) of the two. I have also used the same verbiage in an advisory to the FBI.

Dear Senator Shaheen,

I came across this article today.  I find it disturbing.

If what is reported is true, I interpret it to mean the Governor of Louisiana is inciting armed rebellion against the Federal Government. While I'm just a layman in these matters, I believe it is tantamount to sedition in that it  "... is overt conduct, such as speech and organization, that tends toward insurrection against the established order."  including incitement against lawful authority.

I believe this warrants investigation by your office and/or the FBI / Homeland Security.

I urgently request your followup and reply.

Thank you.

I urge all of my readers to write to their senators expressing your concern and demanding a response; and to forward this information to your freethinking friends, and all defenders of reason and our secular democracy.

  1. Agreed, it sure sounds like sedition, but we have to take into account that nothing has actually happened. Until there is some evidence that what he is doing is actually making people take up arms in a threatening manner towards the government.... it has to be free speech I think.... as foul as it is. However, he is on really shaky ground if someone does take him seriously and does something. Then, he could be charged. Same thing goes for 'The Oathkeepers' who are also trying to get cops to disobey orders if they feel those orders are against the constitution. I'm glad we get to hear what they are saying rather than it all being hidden behind closed doors.

  2. Even though I generally just have good intentions and don't do what I should, I actually just wrote to my Senator, Barbara Mikulski. Thanks for bringing this to our attention! His constituents will be in agreement with him - they are stupid and ignorant enough to have voted him in.

  3. Thanks, Den!s,

I'm not going to wait for something to happen. Arousing/inciting people to a hostile takeover is grounds enough for action, IMO anyway.

I also sent a personal email to Eric Holder, Attny. Gen. If nothing else these letters will raise some awareness, maybe give some fodder for some open chastisement of Jindal and put the GOP religio-nutters on the defensive. It's worth a try. And that's all I can do... try and hope.

  4. Thanks, Nancy...

Yes, his followers will applaud his obscene words. But like I said above, if it can generate some backlash toward him, it is worth the effort.

    Much appreciate your activism.

  5. Consider it done, Hump! I live in Minnesota and luckily, we have two level headed senators here, Amy Klobashar and Al Franken, but I'm sure they would like to be reminded of the lunacy they are up against in todays politics. Keep fighting the good fight, Bart! We appreciate your work.

    Sincerely,

  7. ! Jindal’s claim that ‘leftists’ are the ones waging the religious war is hysterically funny—and, realistically, dangerous. So many people believe it. Yet his is the extreme right that is demanding that their religious agendas be imposed on the entire USA electorate.
It seems to me that Jindal should be investigated and charged with a crime of advocating violent overthrow of the government. It’s disgusting that he is allowed to say this with impunity.

Comments containing bad religious poems (they're all bad, trust me), your announcement of your engagement to Jesus (yeah,I've seen 'em), mindless religious babble, your made up version of Christian doctrine, and death threats are going to be laughed at and deleted. Thanks! Hump
